Cheating/Ban Evasion

If you have one of the following:

Examples of Facepunch unapproved software:

Can I see proof?

Absolutely not. We will not tell you which one of the above bullet points you violated, as you already know this yourself; we don’t need to tell you this.

We, or any other server network will never share proof with you on why you were banned for cheating or ban evasion. This is done to prevent cheaters/ban evaders from knowing how they were caught. This information will not be shared with teammates as they forward this information to the cheater/ban evader as well.

If you wish to know the proof you have that lead to your ban then Rust is not for you, we suggest trying a PvE Minecraft server instead.

Can I be PC checked instead?

No, we don’t need to do that. When we ban you for cheating/ban evasion we’re 100% sure that you violated one of the rules mentioned above.

Association

This means you were associating (playing with) a cheater and/or ban evader.

Bans can range from a few weeks to permanent. Each ban length depends on multiple factors that are not disclosed, except for, knowingly playing with cheaters and knowingly using information provided by them to gain an advantage.

But I didn’t know this person was cheating/ban evading?

Unfortunately, it’s not possible for us to tell whether you knew this or not, as they could have easily disclosed it to you in private. If you gained unfair advantage by playing with a cheater/ban evader then you will be banned.

Ways to check whether someone is cheating

These are basic things you should be checking before playing with someone:

  1. Never trust someone that says “My main account got hacked”/”I lost password to my main account”. These are used by cheaters trying to find a new team every single time.
  2. Ask them to make their Steam profile public or friends only and check the following:
    1. They have other games than just Rust with actual gameplay on them
    2. They have at least some hours on Rust
  3. Their Discord account is not brand new. Check their Discord’s linked social media profiles, see if there’s anything suspicious on them.
  4. Their gameplay style needs to match the amount of hours they have. If you’re getting carried by a player with 200 hours, then it is too good to be true.
  5. Check their account on our player checker tool:
  6. Check their account on Battlemetrics:
    1. If there’s huge gaps in playtime then it could signal about account being bought/hacked.
    2. If it seems like they only have a few hours on Battlemetrics but a lot of hours on Steam profile it could also mean their account is bought.
  7. Ask them to screenshare while playing. While ESP can be hidden from Discord streams, you can still tell if they’re looking somewhere they shouldn’t be, or their bullets are teleporting to player’s heads. </aside>

High Risk Account - Appeal on the Website

For a specific reason, we believe your account is very high risk. Common reasons can be seen in the message in the “Ways to check whether someone is cheating” paragraph; however, there is tens of reasons that we will never disclose to you (in order to prevent cheaters/ban evaders from bypassing these).

You will be asked a lot of questions about your account.

If you’re playing on an alt without prior permission then you will be banned as it is against our rules.

We may deny your account from playing on our servers if your questions do not align with what were seeing or you lied at any point during our question process.
